Text 28 Oct Enough!

The Security Council of Armed Forces (SCAF) claimed a responsibility for steering this country into a brighter future and transitioning it to its next government.

Instead all it seems to have done is simply maintained the work of the previous regime.

The article below highlights the latest Egyptian to fall victim to SCAF. It may not have been SCAF who were directly responsible for Essam’s death but it is indirectly - imposing military trials on civilians and poor management of the current state of Egypt.

When will Egyptians wake up and realise how we are constantly being tricked by SCAF.

Instead of detaining and imprisoning people for expressing their personal opinion against SCAF how about they concentrate on the lawless state the country seems to have buried itself into and the lack of security. They should concentrate their efforts on rounding up those responsible for the cases of kidnap, rape, murder and robbery we are constantly hearing and reading about.

If people feel safe they will be more motivated to work and then that wheel of production everyone is complaining about will start to turn again.

Dear Egyptians who attacked the israeli embassy and those who support it, what good has come out of that? Palestine is still not free and our own country is still in chaos… Breaking into that embassy will not feed our poor, nor educate our people nor employ the unemployed… We have gone from being in the right and being owed an apology for the loss of our 3 soldiers at the borders, to being in the wrong. Israeli ambassador should’ve been asked to leave in light of the border incident. But dear Egyptians let’s build our country first then worry about others…

Earlier today, I likened the concept of chords to a group of 3 friends where the leader is the one the group is named after… And when asked why E minor and major sound so similar, I said they’re like siblings where one likes chocolate and the other doesn’t!! Go on the spot improv when teaching!!

Text 25 Aug Reasons Why I Love… The Summer

- The sun and soaking it up! Plus the added bonus of gorgeous smelling coconut tanning oil…

- The Beach, especially living in Cairo means even if you have work during the week you can drive to a nearby beach for the weekend! Perfect way to cool down!

- Not having to wear layers and jackets and coats, or worry about where to put them once in-doors or hang around with them flung over your arm! ooo and no scarves/gloves either!!

- No Umbrellas to fuss over either (This doesn’t really apply to Egypt but hey, it did for my last 5 years in Liverpool)

- Letting your feet breathe! Flip flops and sandals can be your best friends again!! (Without them getting wet or being at risk of frost bite!) Pedicures make me feel good!!

- My anklets can stay on as I don’t have to worry about wearing tights and having them snatched by my anklet or how it bulges under them…

- Emptier streets in Cairo (When its not Ramadan)

- Holidays!!!

- Travelling - whether its abroad or within Egypt…

- Yacht trips! Best way to enjoy the Red Sea! Fishing and Swimming!

- Cocktails!! In the sun, and better yet on the beach or by the pool side!!

- Summer Soundtracks! Music that suits the sunshine and puts a smile on your face no matter what…

- Beer Gardens - now this one really applies to the UK, longer days and beer gardens simply go hand in hand!

- Outdoor Seating at both pubs, bars, cafes and restaurants! This means that in Egypt where there’s no smoking ban, you can enjoy yourself somewhere without going home smelling like an ash tray or half suffocating before you do!

- Sunglasses! Something about them always makes you feel good!
